This project is an immersive GUI prototype for the release of the Museum of Modern Art’s exhibition archive. The goal was to maintain the original materiality of the art works and the contexts of the exhibitions in digital space. The interactive design illuminates the art pieces in the virtual space, recreates the exact layouts and proportions of the museum rooms and the location of the pieces in the exhibits, and colorizes older exhibits using contemporary photographs of the works. This offers an engaging and interactive documentation of the historical curation choices of the MOMA’s exhibits from the past.
